Yes..the hunt for actual records is critical and new materials keep becoming available I think VA library is working on new digital records for Augusta County so we may have more access online later in the year. Same with ship records etc. hard to read but some new stuff keeps becomes available regularly. Of course it is still all complex...I am fairly sure now we probably have two Margaret Gregg/Graggs floating around the same time period..Margaret Phars who married Johnson and as his widow married William Gregg and thus became "a" Margaret Gregg but not the woman who is the candidate for the wife of one of the Ben Kimseys. That does not prove a Margaret Gregg/Gragg did marry a Kimsey as related in various stories but it does explain the documents relating to the Margaret Johnson Gregg...who isn't likely to be "our" Margaret Gragg/Gregg. Thanks also for posting the new materials on William Kimsey..it has new locations I hadn't seen before and it was helpful to know that these were near VA and MAryland border.
