I know that there are some very advanced Kimsey/Kimzey family researchers on this message board and I wondered if any of them can help me with a question about a source in Alga Kimsey's book on the Kimsey Family (Journey to Tennessee). In the section on William Kimsey and Anne Crawford, the marriage of Nancy Amanda Kimsey, their daughter, to John Altmon Guinn, is sourced with a reference to a newspaper clipping from "Athens (Georgia) Post, March 7, 1856". (I have only the source page and this chapter from the book - I received it from TN State Archives last week.) When I tried to find this historical newspaper in Georgia, I couldn't find any record of it. But there was an Athens Post paper in the Polk County etc area of TN where the Kimseys were living at the time of the marriage that published from 1848 to 1931. I am thinking that Alga Kimsey just made a mistake in saying it was a Georgia newspaper, and that it really had to be the Athens Post newspaper published in TN in that general area in 1850s. The TN archives apparently has them on micro film, but before I send a check for what may not be a fruitful search, I thought I would see if any Kimsey researchers have (1) seen the clipping she refers to or (2) think that the correct Athens Post is in TN, not Georgia. Many, many thanks for any help you can give me.
