I am researching the name Kimberk also. My GG Grandfathers
sister Margaret Brannan married a Silas Kimberk in Akron Ohio on Nov 18 1860.
He served with the 6th Ohio Independent Light during the civil war.
He made it through the war, but was killed in a cannon
accident in Akron in 1868, during a celebration for U.S Grants
presidental inaugeration. I dont know any more about this family.
I dont know if there were any children born to them. Does any of this sound
familiar??

Hi Kathy
In Lorenzo's civil war bio it states his parents were Frederick & Sabrina Pickham-Kimberk and that he (Lorenzo) had 4 brothers and two sons who served the union army-his sons were George and Franklin. It also states that his mother is buried in Shiawasee MI. I have seen a listing for a Frederick W. Kimberk serving in MI so I'm guessing this may be one of the brothers. I also have a marriage lic. for Frederick W. Kimberk to Phebe Ann Runyon in Will Co, IL in 1851 but it was too early for parental info. This bio also claims Lorenzo's father Frederick was in the war of 1812, I have found a listing for a Matthias and a Frederick serving Ulster County, NY in the revolution but am told there were no bounty land rights for Frederick. Silas could be a brother or nephew of Lorenzo? I ordered Lorenzo's pension file in Nov. maybe it will reveal more when it arrives. I have found this name spelled every way possible but it also states in the bio his father was of german descent (mother scotch). I have also found an Elisha C. listed in OH civil war but have not looked into yet. Maybe as we learn more we'll connect the two of them. I really don't know anything more yet. Good Luck! Deb

Hi Kathy ~
I live in Akron, Ohio and do a lot of work here for the Find-A-Grave website. I have a listing on that site for Silas Kimberk with grave photos included. Go to Find A Grave.com and search with his name. My site name on Find-A-Grave is Mr. Ed.

I am sending you a picture of Emma Kimberks cemetery stone. Her middle initial is S. You can see it on the stone. I am interested in her only because I have a genealogy website for the Conneaut, Monroe, Kingsville, Pierpont, Ohio areas. She was the only Kimberk I could find in the area census records and I finally found her in the records at Jefferson, Ohio in the old courthouse records. She is buried in a small cemetery at the Bushell area between Conneaut and Monroe Township, Ohio. I am attaching a picture of her stone. I will get a better one later when I can get my husband to go help me lift it for viewing. It is loose in the ground and can be put back easily without damaging it. I will also send a picture of the cemetery that my husband helped me take.

Here is my first search into my ancestry. I'm looking for info on Mary Jane Kimberk. I know she married a Lefevre Imhoff (from Lanc., Pa) and they settled in Michigan (Cedar Springs/Greenville/Ionia). She was born abt 1850. A 1910 and 1920 census record says she was born in Ohio, as was her father. Her mother was born in England.

I'd like to know her birthplace, Mother/fathers names and birthplaces.
