Hello,

I am just starting to look into my mother’s genealogy. Her father was Everett Kimbark, I think his middle name was Earl. He passed away about 20 years ago. He had a twin brother Roy, who has also passed. He was married to Gladys Tanner.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
--Joe-

Hi,
I'm sorry I don't know the name. My grandfather Frank Maston Kimbark was a businessman from Chicago. He may be a relative of his? My father Kim Lee Kimbark (Sr.) passed away 40 years ago when I was turning six. He has a sister named Betty Jane Kimbark who is still alive. She was born in 1928 (about 78 years old) and lives in Ontario, Canada.
Do you know what nationality the Kimbark name is?
My Aunt Betty thinks that our name was originally De Cambert from France and was changed when Frank came across in the boat. Have you heard anything?

I too was searching on the Kimbark name and saw your post. Roy Kimbark was my father's cousin, I believe. The last I recall, they came to visit us on their way from Rhode Island to California. I believe there was a Roy, Jr who was an only child. We visited them once after they moved. I believe Roy was an optometrist because I recall driving by or stopping at his business before we went to their house for lunch. This was many years ago, probably the mid-1950s. I always wondered what happened to them.

My daughter lives in Longmont CO and I was dumbfounded the first time I drove through the city to see Kimbark Street there. My father has been dead for a long time, but my Mother told me there is a Kimbark Street in Chicago, too. I know there used to be a Kimbark Oil Company on the Chicago Over the Counter exchange. I always figured we were related since it is such an unusual name.

I was doing the search because I was always told our name was Dutch. I am going to The Netherlands and was just wondering if that side of my family really was Dutch.

This information is probably not useful to you, but I thought I would respond, just in case you check this site periodically. Perhaps you can tell me what happened to Roy Sr, Roy Jr and Gladys.

Thank you

Thank you for your reply. My maiden name is also Kimbark. I would like to talk to you further about our family and my recollections. My preference is not to do it further through Ancestry.com. My email is kkgolfer@aol.com. Perhaps you can email me there and we can talk soon. Thanks, Karol
