I am looking for information on my great-grandfather, Ferdinand Kiko, born 2/22/1882, married Elizabeth M. Rohr 6/12/1906, died 9/12/1971. I can't seem to find anything about his parents.

Hello, I am researching my family members who have a Kiko as an inlaw. I found a Ferdinand with parent Fredericka & Ferdinand in the 1910 census Perry, Stark county, Ohio. Problem is his DOB is 1992 & listed as born in Ohio. Does have sisters Catherine, Clara, Fredericka & brother Casper.

Ferdinand Henry Kiko b. 1882 in Dortmund, Germany d. 12 Sep 1971 is my wife's g-grandfather also. His parents were Ferdinand b. abt 1856 Dortmund, Germany d. 14 Sep 1928 and Frederika Demmer b. 6 Nov 1859 Dortmund, Germany d. 24 Mar 1927. Ferdinand and Frederika had the following children: Ferdinand b. 1882, Amelia b. abt 1886, Theresa b. abt 1888, Frederika b. abt 1890, Frederick b. 1893, Casper b. 1895, Kathyrn b. abt 1898, and Clara b. abt 1903. I too am having a great deal of trouble finding anything ont Ferdinand's parents as they immigrated in 1892. I do however have a great deal of info on their descendents.

I think I'm in the same boat. It seems really hard to find any info back past Ferdinand of 1856. He's my g-g-grandfather. I'd like to know where he came from and where. Any ideas?

My current line of thinking is that Frederika Demmer was from Bausenhagen, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany which lies about halfway between Dortmund and Soest and that Ferdinand Kiko was from Werl, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany which is about 11.8 kilometers (7.3 Miles) to the north east of Bausenhagen. There is a Catholic Church in between in the town of Büderich. At the moment this is only a hunch but is based on some tiny tidbits of info found along the way in my search for the elusive German Kiko conection. Unfortunately I have been unable to research this line of thought simply because I haven't had the luxury of time.
