Josef had 12 children at least the last nine were born in the USA starting in 1890 in Boston. I don't have dates or places of birth for the first three but I do have all the names. No Victor or Vincent to my knowledge. Could be he is the child of a brother. I haven't found very many Kijaks in my research. Do you have any more information on him?

I believe Josef had at least one male sibling who had a daughter named Francis born Aug 2, 1898 and died Feb 1989 in Chicago, IL, name and other details for Josef's brother are unknown. I also have the names of Josef's parents. Bartlemiej Kijak and Regina Paniszek both I believe were born in Sczcurowa Poland dates unknown. So far this information has all come through family sources and none of it has been confirmed.

Kijak no match

I've looked at the info I have and your
tree and can't find a match. My information
has also been passed on and nothing is
confirmed. If I come across anything I'll
let you know. I have dates of people in the
early 1900's. I only have one in the 1800's
and that would be Paul. Have no information
on him yet, or any of his siblings.

Good luck in your research.

Thanks Natalie, there may still be a connection somewhere. Kijak is not a real common name so I suspect there is a relationship somewhere back there. I let you know if I find out any more info.

Error in message "Siblings of Jozef Kijak"

In rereading my earlier posting I notced I made the error of stating that Francis Kijak was the daughter of Jozef Kijak's male sibling when in fact Francis (aka Frank) was his son. My apologies, there is also a Frances Kijak who was a daughter of Jozef Kijak.

have started to research my family name and found this small discussion. My great grandfather was born in Poland and we are tracking down a birth certificate that could tell us where. I'd be interested to be in contact with any of you - and why, may I ask, are you researching Kijaks? Happy Holidays, Stephen

Hi Steven, I would be happy to be in touch with you directly to discuss Kijaks. My maternal grandmother was a Kijak, Her father Jozef Kijak came to America from Poland. I have records of many Kijaks in Poland going back over 200 years. If you would like to contact me directly, my e-mail address is Tgrafst@aol.com. What was your great grandfathers name and date of birth; I may already have records on him.
