Richard,
Greetings from your 3rd cousin, 1 generation removed. Our common ancestors are George and Rebecca Jane REYNOLDS KIGHTLINGER or KITELINGER, who were my 2G Grandparents and your 3G Grandparents, hence the 1 generation removed.
I have almost no information on the KIGHTLINGER/KITELINGERs from personal knowledge. Nearly everything that I have has come from public records, but the quantity is quite considerable. However, there is nearly nothing for the past 75 years. As I'm sure you know, it's very difficult to find public information on living people. Thus the last child of Charley and Lillian that I've found is Clifton, b. 1929, so your father is missing from the list. In a couple of months, when the indexing of the 1940 Census is complete, I'll be able to complete that family.
As you may know, the KIGHTLINGER/KITELINGERs were _very_ prolific. Many of the 19th Century lines had at least a dozen children. And the same given names were used over and over (particularly George) so keeping them all straight is definitely a challenge.
Then there's the matter of the spelling of the name. Even brothers and sisters used different spellings. Obviously, for the last several generations your ancestors used KITELINGER; mine used KIGHTLINGER.
So, enough generalities. I'll begin by e-mailing you a pedigree chart. That will be followed by family group sheets, and then images of documentation.
In the meantime, you might like to visit this page, which is the headstone of your 3G Grandfather. The other links will take you to other family members.

Please excuse me if you already know some/all of this info, but I have no way of knowing how much experience you have at this pursuit!
Best regards.
