I have found on the Ohio County Virginia 1850 census John Kiggins age 84 and Samuel Kiggins age 81. also there families. there are more Kiggins in this county at this time than anywhere else in the country.
My own ancestry ends with Jonathan Kiggins and his marriage to Elizabeth Boyer. we can give Jonathan a birth date of 12 July 1792 by the dates on his tombstone in Mercer County Ohio, Family tradition says that he was born in Washington County Pennsylvania, and that he had a brother names Robert Kiggins that merried his sister-in-law. I find now that there is a greater concentration of the Kiggins family in southwest Pennsylvania than anywhere else in the country, even thought I know of at least three Irish immigrants in the mid 1800's I think that we will find the links to our various families in the courthouse records of Allegeny, and Washington county Pennsylvania, and Ohio county West Virginia.
I will also follow this post with another one concerning earlier Kiggins that I am finding in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, three or four Kiggins served in the revolutionary war, two of which were officers.
