My family name is Kiff. My grandfathers name was Lodriques and his fathers name was Gerris Kiff. Some how my father, Edwin Antoine , ended up spelling his surname Kiffe. I have been told by family members when someone was baptized in the church, sometimes the prist would spell names according to the way he interpreted it to be by the pronounciation.
Would love to hear from you. I have more info. Would be nice to compare the Kiff surname.
Sincerely,
B.K. Theriot

Douglas
Need some guidelines
There are a couple of diseases which are in the family which pinpoint what line we came from. Where does June live, who was her father, grandfather etc. One disease is rare called Thalassaemia. This disease is thought to have entered the family when Barbara Fawcus married Barnard Kiff 25th July 1808
They were married St Albans Abbey. Barnard was the great great grandson of William and Elisabeth who were responsible for our being here. You can contact me on 01279 721263 if you would like to discuss.

David, I have been reading your postings with much interest. As you can see, most of us start our KIFF history right here in the United States. Does your line come into the U.S. and if so, would you please share with us when, where, and with whom! I am sure we would all like to trace our KIFF line back to country of origin! You can e-mail me directly at jodiba@worldnet.att.net. Thank you! Joanne Baker
