My ancestor was a George Kierce which was listed in the 1790 Orangeburg, South Carolina Census. After much discussions with fellow ancestor's doing the same research, we have come to the possible conclusion that this John George Kirsh is their father. We have always been lead to believe that the Kierce name is Irish, because there are several Kierce families in Ireland, but there are many Kierce/Kearse families in South Carolina history books, particularly in Barnwell, SC. Could this be the same family??? Very interested to learn more about yours.
