Widlice is not far-maybe 20 miles- from where my great grandfather Paul Pollom comes from. Wda-Czarnylas area. Though most Kiedrowskis are from Chojnice area, allegedly Anna M. Pollom(von Kiedrowski) is from the Posen area(which was pretty big at one time and extends up to Koronowo. There are no found records of her birth or marriage yet.

I've joined a polish geneological group at http://www.ptg.gda.pl/index.php/certificate/action/searchB
Do you think they are 100 Percent polish? I know that I have German relatives somehow with this folks.

John,

I know my Kiedrowski's are not all Polish. Johannes wife was Rosalia Hinz, which is German.

Surnames: OHNHAUS
I don't know if my other post went through or not so I am posting again. I was wondering about your connection with OHNHAUS. We are researching Aloysious OHNHAUS who lived in Pittsburgh, PA. His obit from the paper said his funeral was at his son-in-law, Thomas KIEDER's, home at 1712 Fox St, South Side, Pittsburgh, PA. Is Thomas related to you?
Also Aloysious had a daughter, Amelia, who was born in Wheeling, WV between 1876-1880. So I was thinking she could be a sister of Catherine OHNHAUS who you mention who was born in WV in 1874. What are your thoughts? Also in 1903 the Pittsburgh city directory has a Thomas KEIDER and an Aloysious OHNHAUS both living at 64 Magnolia. Let me know your thoughts on these things.

I don't think my last message got through by what you are saying. To answer your question about the names Keider and Kiedrowski. I think they changed their name in public to Keider when they came to the states. However they retained the name Kiedrowski in the Catholic church. I have had a time trying to trace them because of this dual use. I was not aware that Thomas used the name Keider before 1930 in Trumbull County. Ohio. This is also where Catherine Ohnhaus died.

I do think that Thomas was the Thomas Neider mentioned in your obituary as I know his address was 1712 Fox Alley and the 64 Magnolia was the address of Thomas' father.

Would you mind sending me a copyof your obituary?

I am this for the sixth time.

To answer your questions. Johan and Matheaus Kiedrowske immigrated to Baltimore from Poland (Germany) in late 1881. Johan (John) was my husband's g grandfather and Matheaus, his brother, was Thomas' father. Johan changed his name only in the public to Keider - he kept Kiedrowski in the Catholic Church.

Thomas lived at 1712 Fox (formally the home of John)after John died in 1905. Matheaus bought and lived at 64 Magnolia St. until his death in 1901; however his widow and daughter retained the property and continued living there.

I was unaware that Thomas had begun using the name Keider until 1930 in Trumbull county, Ohio. This is also where Catherine Ohnhaus Kiedrowski died.

Given this information, I would say your Ohnhaus family is definitely connected to Catherine Ohnhaus Kiedrowski.

Would you send me a copy of the obituary as it is proof that Thomas used the name Keider prior to 1930?
