Hi,
My Kedrowski's were last seen not far from Danzig, West Prussia, in the mid-1800's. If they are anything like the families they married into, they would have immigrated to WI or some such. I'm just wondering if any other researchers have Kedrowski's in the Danzig area.
Regards,
Chuck

Chuck,

just think I figured out where my Kiedrowski's originated. It has been vague as did not even know the name was Kiedrowski until the last few years. If you go straight south from Danzig there was a town named Kulm or Culm - seen it spelled both ways. I think today it is spelled Chelmno and pronounced Khelm' no. Probably about 200 miles from Danzig (really a guess). They came to the US about 1881-1882 and settled in the Pittsburgy, Pennsylvania area.

My family came from the Berent/Koscierzyna area. I have done extensive research in the church records of the area, including Koscierzyne, Brusy, Lipusz, Tuchomie, etc. I will be attending a family reunion in that area in August 2008/

All I know about my Kiedrowskis is that I have found them in Nowa Wies, Krolewska, Kujawsko, Pomorskie, Poland for the birth of three of their children. (I am out of town now and do not file with me) His name was Joseph and her name was Rosalia Kurkierewicz (maiden). She died in Nowa Wies Sept. 3, 1853 at about 33 years of age. leaving three four children, August, Mattias, Johann, and Katharina. Where they were married is unknown as is where they were born. Joseph left Nowa Wies after her death--where he went is unknown. He was a tailor. Parents of both Rosalia and Joseph is unknown. I simply don't have much to go on.

my name is holly, i just have to say that there is a lot of research done about the "kedrowski/kiedrowski" family by a man name Uwe von Kiedrowski. If anyone can read German like me, I can email some stuff to you. Basically we all are of nobel Prussian blood and come from an area not far from Gdansk (Danzig), a town called "Kiedrowice". The blood line can be traced back to 1170 AD. http://sites.google.com/site/doprnews/Home/kiedro-familienin...
that is a link in german with some information. I have been to visit the family which still lives in the area. They still own a large amount of land and keep horses there. I hope this helps some people looking for some answers.

My german is good and I'd be happy to see any info.

Specifically I am looking for Margarita Appolonia Kedrowski, b 1831, who married Michael Berggrun (also known as Michael Lehman) on 9-Nov-1851 at St Adalberts, Kr. Danzig. They had lots of children. Margarita seems to have had sisters Maria and Anna who tended to show up at baptisms.

(There used to be a way to see people's email addresses on ancestry.com. If there's not any more, we need to figure out how to connect.)

Thanks,
Chuck

Hi Holly, I am looking into the Kiedrowski family and am hoping you can help me with my grandfather's family.

My grandfather was Josef Kiedrowski, born 6 Feb 1869, he came to America in 1891. His sister, Josephine (b: 14 Mar 1857) and her husband Thomas Trzebiatowski (b: 29 Dec 1852) came to America in 1879.

Mom tells me that grandma burnt all of grandpa's papers after he passed away in 1934 in the Town of Reid, Wisconsin, USA.

Mom said grandpa had quite a few brothers and sisters, but the rest of the family stayed in Poland.

Thank you for any assistance you can give me.
Laurie
