Do contact me if at any time you read the message boards and feel you might want to find a connection. They have connections with Youels/Youells and the Rush family too in Norfolk.

Re: Bunwell, NORFOLK Kiddles
Hello there! My name is John Kiddle and I live near Marbella in Spain. My family spent most of the 1800´s in Norfolk. My GGGreatfather was the schoolmaster in Gunthorpe and his family were born in Yeovil, Cardiff and Blakeney. Some later in Heigham. Does it ring any bells? I would be pleased to chat if you have info as I am coming to Norfolk 2nd week of September. Regards John

Re: Bunwell, NORFOLK Kiddles
Maria Youels born in Kenninghall England was my grandmother. She married Alexander Wells, my grandfather. Her father may have been born in Bunwell, Robert Youels. Do you know if the name Youels is Scottish? Maria was born in 1846 and died in 1934. Dorothy Curtis

Re: Bunwell, NORFOLK Kiddles
The Youels name is an old name of Viking origin and as far as i could see there were links between Rotherham Youels and those in Norfolk, but this could have been over many years. Youels or Youell as they tend to vary the name dates back to the Vikings throwing burning wheels down their hills at the end of the new year to mark the end of the last year and the beginning of the next.
I will over Christmas see if i can find out anymore as my great X3 gran was Rhoda Youels and she would have been related to yours. Once I can tell you more I will do so.

Re: Bunwell, NORFOLK Kiddles
Thankyou so much for your information about the name Youels. Rhoda Youels was my GGrandmother. I think she was born in Suffolk. Her maiden name was Dobito, Her husband Robert Youels was a sheep dealer and farmer in Kenninghall. Some of the Dobitos were sheep dealers also. I found the name Dobito on her death notice, but I have not been able to find her birth or her father. I live in San Diego Co,USA but I have been to England 3 times. Love it there! Thankyou for your help. Dorothy{Wells}Curtis

Re: Bunwell, NORFOLK Kiddles
Wendy this is unbelievable I have not seen this email till now. Please see the message I have sent via ancestry.com. She married quite an able farmer and I am thrilled as I never knew they had children. I descend from Joseph Youels who a lot of people do not know existed.
