DIED, in Temple, New Hampshire, April 19, Ensign JOSEPH KIDDER, in the 92d year of his age. May 1748, he was wirh a party of 18 men, under Captain Melvil, of Concord, and went as far as Crown Point. Upon the return of the party, on the West river, about 30 miles from the Fort Drummer, the Indians ambushed and fired upon the, five were killed, one missing, the rest made their excape. Ensign Kidder was the last that died. His mental powers remained to the last. He was a pleasant husband, an affectionate father, a good neighbor. He has left six children, a number of grand and great grandchildren.
