Hi Etha,
My Great Grandmother was Marie Cidalise Kidder who Married Thomas Jefferson Wheaton in Arnaudville in 1892 or so. I haven't been able to find out much about the Kidder connection in our family and know very little about them. I was born in Opelousas in 1953 and my father was Adolph Wheaton. Heck for all I know Your dad may have delivered me :) MY Mother was Philomena Evangiline Parker. I would love to find out about the Kidder family and will let you know any information I can find.
Best Regards Glenn

Hi! My grandfather was Louis S. Kidder. His father was Stanislaus, Sr. I guess that would mean that my grandfather was your father's brother, correct? I would love to know more about my ancestry. I don't even know my grandfather's mother's name. All I know is that she died in child-birth and Stanislaus remarried and had children with that lady also...I know a couple of my grandfathers siblings...one is Eric and another that Iknow is Regina. My grandfather, Louis, died in 1979. My father's name is Johnny Kidder. We live in Texas, so I haven't been able to stay in touch with dad's family through the years. I would love to know more about the Kidder's! I love my cajun heritage andwould love to be able to share my ancestry with my children. Anxiously awiting a reply... Johnal Kidder Worthington

Etha, My name is Johnny Kidder and I was born in 1943 and raised in Arnaudville. I am an only child and my parents are Lloyd J. Kidder and Jeanne Robin. My dad died in 1995, however, my mom is 86 and lives with me in New Orleans. I am almost positive she knew your father. I will read your message to her tomorrow as she is now sleeping. I will e-mail you later. Of course I knew Dr. Bobby and gratuated with his son, Bobby,Jr. from Arnaudville Hi in 1961. We have kept our house in Arnaudville and visit frequently. Do you still live in Arnaudville? Let see what else can I tell you, oh yes, my grandfather on my dad's side was Ignace Kidder and he was married to a LaGrange. She was Regis LaGrange's sister. Mom's father was Louis Robin and his wife was Antonia Noel. Our old house is on Market Street; of course when I lived in Arnaudville there were no street names. Do you think we may be related? I'm so glad I found your message and hope you will respond. Johnny

Hi Johnny. I'm glad you reposted your response to Etha. Even though her message was posted in 2000, it is still possible to connect with someone.
That is how I found a "distant cousin" in CT; I responded to a query she had placed 3 years before.
However, I just checked Etha's information, and she seems to have only posted one message on one Board during 2000, and at no other time. So, she might not still be on line.
You could try writing to her e-mail address directly, though.
If the family you are all part of was a very large family, then you probably have lots of "distant cousins." Perhaps if you, or several of you, post more (current) information on the "main couple" you are researching, other KIDDER researchers might recognize some piece of information.

HI, I am tracing my sister's biological roots. We have a last name of Robin..no first name. Biological mom's dob is 6-26-48 and she attended nursing school. She had an older brother and sister. Have you heard of any one in your family that gave up a little girl for adoption at birth in Rochester, Ny 1969? Any and all info appreciated, we are trying to get medical history on the family for her doctor. Thank you - please feel free to email me bowman28@earthlink.net

I'm not sure who I'm talking too. But I am working on my family tree. Just started. My mom, Janet Kidder Allemond, was Stan Sr.'s child. She has many brothers and sisters. Stan St. and Agnes Cormier were my mother's grandparents. My mom's dad was Stan Jr. and she has a brother Stan III. She also has many brother's and sisters. My Aunt Regina, Stan Sr. sister died recently- just a few years ago. Stan Jr.'s children are: Steven Paul Kidder (lives in Indiana), Clinton James Kidder (Arnaudville, LA), Shannon Ray Kidder (Baton Rouge, La), Melissa Kidder Thibodeaux (Port Allen, LA), Etha Louise Kidder Loftin (Port Allen, LA), Janet Kidder Allemond (Arnaudville, LA) Linda Kidder Cavalier (Port Allen, LA), Cheryl Kidder Lehman (Port Allen, LA)Stanislaus Kidder III (Donner, LA- small town near Houma).
My grandma- Stan Jr.'s widow (Esther Kidder) now resides in Lakeland Florida.
I hope that helps ya. If you need any more info please let me know. I had no idea that my great grandfather had been previously married before Agnes Cormier.

Re: Stan Kidder (Louisiana)
Hello, Out of curiousity I checked www.familysearch.org and see that the name, Stanislaus KIDDER, happened for several generations. And, it goes back to mid-1800's Louisiana. And it seems the men all had large families. Were they descended from the patriarch, James KIDDER? Betty (near Lowell, MA)
