Hello,

I am descended from Eleanor Kidd, who was the sister of your Nancy Kidd who married Hugh Mayberry. I have information about Eleanor's descendants and also know a little about Nancy and her family.

I am hoping to learn more about Nancy and Eleanor's ancestry. I know that their parents' names were Robert Kidd and Betty H. and that they were born in either Scotland or Ireland, but I would like to learn more.

Please let me know if you know anything else about this family. I would be happy to exhange information if you would like.

Thank you,

-Alex

Are you still looking for information on the Kidd Family? I just saw your post last night as I was doing something else & the Kidd name popped out & as I have some of your Kidd's in a connected tree....of sorts...I thought I would reply. Grace Holly Kidd (1893-1981) was the daughter of Avis G Bracy (1866-1948) and Elmer Philander Holly (1865-1919). Avis was half-sister to my grandmother Nina Genevieve Bracy (1880-1923). Avis was the daughter of my great grandfather, William Henry Bracy (1846-1924) by his first wife Ladora Davis (1844-1876). My grandmother was his daughter by his second wife Ida Manson. Grace Holly married Robert J Kidd (1890-1958) and had two children, Jean Grace Kidd (1929-2013) and Jay Newton Kidd (1930-1954). Robert J Kidd was the son of James A Kidd (1854-1940) and Almeda "Meidy" Chio or Kio (1866-1918). A far as I am able to determine James A & Almeda had 9 children including Robert J., the eldest. It appears that James A had two sisters, Susan E (abt 1854) and Viola B (abt 1856) of whom I can find no further record. In the 1860 Federal Census James A is listed with those two sisters, a father James (B abt 1822 in England) and mother Harriet M (B abt 1828 in New York). As there must be 100 James Kidd's immigrating from England, Scotland & Ireland in this time period it is impossible to determine exactly where he came from and when. Harriet M spent the last 10-15 years of her life in the St Lawrence County Almshouse/Poorhouse/Mental Asylum/Hospital. She apparently suffered from severe epileptic seizures. She was born in New York as was her father. Her mother was born in Vermont both according to records for the hospital available on Ancestry. I can't remember who Jean Grace Kidd was married to so will have to ask my cousin if you want more info. Jay Newton Kidd was killed in an automobile accident and was never married. Have no idea if this helps you or not. From what you posted I would think that the two families you have listed are not connected. Let me know, Diann
