Kidd in Wisconsin

Hi,
My father was from Hudson, Wisconsin. Born 1929 died 1990 (William L. Kidd). He had two siblings, sister Evelyn and brother Ole. both were several years older than he and are now deceased. Ole had three sons, Jean, Richard, and I don't know the youngest. I believe all are still living. Additionally, I am pretty sure that all Kidds in Wisconsin are closely related and belong to a branch of the Kidd family from Southern Scotland and Northern England and are therefore unrelated to most people with the Kidd name in the US. Hope this helps.

Where in Wisconsin?

I'm working on the Kidd line from the Bloom City, Richland County, Wisconsin area. Do you know what part of Wisconsin Jean Kidd hailed from? Any info will be a help for me in checking my records.

If there is more than 1 Kidd line here in Wisconsin, I would like to know more about it. A woman by the name of Vergie Cooper Anderson began doing up a genealogy listing of the Cooper family back in the 1930's. In it, she has listed the Cooper, Kidd, and a bunch of other families that the Coopers married into. Her brother had it all printed into a book in 1997. In this book, it almost mirrors what is listed on the "Kidd Konnection" web page.
I have only been able to varify about 50% of the information at this time.
Please give me a shout back on your Kidd line so I can double check it with mine.

My great grandfather, Barney Kidd, lived in Wisconsin. He married Mary Ann Brady and they had two children -- Mary Ann and Helen (m. A. Jenks). His family was from Scotland. If anyone has information, I'd appreciate it.

Attention Gene Kidd....

I would like to know more information on the Kidds in Wisconsin. I am searching that line, I think. How do I get to the "Kidd Konnection" that you mentioned and have you ever heard of Wiford Byrle Kidd or Byrle Wilford? He married Annetta Belle Christman.
Please let me know either way.

Paula,

The only Wilford I'm showing in my records is a Wilford Berlin Kidd born at 2 A. M., Thurdsday, 1 December, 1887 in the Township of Bloom. He was the son of Zachriah Norman Kidd and Clara Bell Cook. (Vol E. Page 124, Richland County Courthouse, Richland Center, Wisconsin.) The records also show other living children at the time he was born. A Frank L. Kidd and a Charles H. Kidd. Sorry, no dates yet on these two children.

There was one more son born to Zacharah And Clara Bell on 5 August, 1891 but I have no first name at this time.

For Wilford being married to a Annetta Belle Christman, I am going to have to check on that for you the next time I'm up in Richland Center. (I try to get over there once a month.) Christman is a fairly common name in that part of the country so there is a chance. I haven't really checked out that line of the family much. I'm mostly focusing on my direct line at the present time. (My great grandfather Jabez was Zachariah's older brother.)

For the Kidd Konnection website, please follow this link: http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Meadows/9710/ I must warn you there isn't much on there about the Kidds that came to Wisconsin. For that I would suggest going to: http://www.monticellowi.com/RichlandCo/ This site is based on Richland County, Wisconsin genealogy. I feel it's one of the better ones out there.

If I can be of any more help, feel free to give me a shout.

I would like information anyone has on Kidds who settled around Millville area (Grant Co. I think) in mid 1800's. Our Kidd line settled there briefly beforing moving on to Stearns Co MN where they show up in the 1860 census. The names William, George and Matthew are common to our Kidd line. Womens names were Martha, Jane and maybe Caroline. Our ancestor was Hodgson Kidd. His first wife was Mary Kepler and second wife was Elizabeth Nussbaum.
