Looking for parents of George Kidd, born 1810. Husband of Mary McCaleb, aka McKillip.

Can you add information on George Kidd, such as his sibling's names, where he was born, and where he lived during his life?

Mary:
I am not certain how we might be related. The furthest back I can go with my Kidd family name is Francis M. Kidd, b 1807, probably in what is now Missouri. He is listed on the census as being born in LA. In 1807, Missouri was still called Louisiana Territory, thus if born in the area of present day Missouri, LA would be correct. Also, he married a Kentucky woman, and their first two children were born in the 1830’s in Missouri.
My DNA matches all 67 markers with a Jimmy Leroy Kidd. His ancestors go back to a George Kidd, b. 1777 in Virginia, who died in 1870 in Greenup, KY. So, there is a connection here, but I cannot yet identify the source.
I am hoping to find a family where my Francis is actually named as a sibling, but no luck so far.
I hope you do find a DNA source. I think these records will prove invaluable in the future.
Thank you for your response.

Well, as you can see, I didn't ck back on this web site for your question/ans. last year. George Kidd, whom I am trying to trace backwards was born about 1810. Wife, Mary McCaleb. Seven children: out of order: Robert, Demarcus Lafayette (married Mildred Stewart, Scott Co VA), Tandy, Newton Gaston (married Sarah Kager Burch), Elizabeth, Thomas, and can't remember the other dtr's name. All born in No Carolina. George and family followed the Daniel Boone trail about 1850, through the Wilderness pass, via Scott Co VA. Demarcus the eldest, stayed in Scott Co, married Mildred Stewart. Others went on to KY. All men, father and all boys were in the Civil War. GEorge died at Covington, KY from Smallpox. Demarcus was captured at the Battle of Wilderness, was POW at Elmyra NY. newton age 14 or so, wasn't a soldier but drove an ammunitions wagon for the NO. Some were Confederate, some Yanks, depending on the State in which they lived. I know quite a bit from there on, but his ancestors is what I would like to find and the McCalebs. The only Kidd in MO that I know of was Wm E Kidd, Tyrone, TX Co Mo. He had a store in Tyrone, which is still there, but falling down. He was the son of Demarcus L Kidd. Demarcus had a store in Gate city VA, I think, so his gggrandtr has said. Wm E Kidd has two living dtrs in MO. One in Branson and the sister is in Houston, TX CO, MO. Not sure if we are related, but probably very distantly.

KIDD---- Jimmy LeRoy Kidd
Seeing your mention in your query of sharing all 67 DNA markers with Jimmy LeRoy Kidd, I assume you got in touch with him. He is one of the cousins in my long self-published (in 1980) family history book. Do you know if Jimmy is still alive?..... I think, as of 1980, he was living in Austin Texas. I have him as the 8th child of my Great Aunt Kate McENTIRE (Della Elizabeth "Kate" McENTIRE / McINTYRE /McINTIRE, etc.). b 1886 Missouri. My research showed that Kate was supposedly named by her old brother John, after an old white mule "Kate". She remembered as a girl, traveling in a covered wagon for her father's health, and that they had sold land. Kate had striking features: coal black hair (which was probably inherited from her father Sam). Kate married Wesley "Wes" Columbus KIDD, who worked as a brakeman on log trains in Missouri. They lived in Eminence, Missuri, then later moved to Oklahoma, then Arkansas, and Texas. In my book, I have photos of them and also most of their children,, and some of their grandchildren. Their last child was Jimmy LeRoy Kidd (b March 1926 in Hamlin, Texas), md Sue ?, at least 3 ch: Michael, Melissa and Christopher. Jimmy, like his father Wes, worked on the railroad, though he later became head of Texas School Teachers. My research on the genealogy preceding Kate and Wes, only follows Kate's heritage, since Kate was the blood relative of mine.

Re: KIDD---- Jimmy LeRoy Kidd
Merci
Bien à vous
Florence

Re: KIDD---- Jimmy LeRoy Kidd
I am the daughter of Jimmy LeRoy Kidd. He recently passed away on April 18, 2015. We are deeply saddened to say that someone broke into his house and took his computers. We have very little family history left-most was on his external hard drives. I would appreciate any history anyone is willing to share. My grandfather was Wesley Columbus Kidd and grandmother was Della Elizabeth (Kate) McEntire Kidd. Thank you for any help.
