Hi All KIDDs of Fife descendancy.

Several KIDD families in Australia and Fife have reconnected with each other and if you think that you too are descended as they are from the three sons of David KID born in 1682-8 in the Kilconquhar area of Fife then make contact to receive our newsletter. A reunion is planned for next year.

Hello! I am a descendent of Kidd's from Kirkcaldy, Fife. My great-great grandfather emigrated to Australia in the late 1800's, leaving my great-grandfather, James, behind in Scotland.

I am interested in the newsletter... whom should I contact?

Thanks!

Hi
I am a relative of Mary Kidd, daughter of Alexander Kyd I believe (according to my findings) from Fife, Scotland.
According to my family tree they are from Kilconquhar, Fife originally (unike yours being Kirkcaldy).
Mary Kidd Married John Lumsdem/Lumsdaine and had Janet and JAMES KIDD.
Janet married Andrew Ringin & after marriage and with 3 children, they moved to Ballart, Australia where they had more children.

I am a bit confused however as you stated you great-great that left Scotland to be a male, as mine was a female. Perhaps Janet had another brother who left with her and that's who you are talking about?

Fun fact: One of Janet and Andrew's sons was named after your great-great grandfather James (that is if we are talking about the same family)

Hope to hear from you soon

Hi Anisa,
Our Fife KIDDs from Kilconquhar, Colinsburgh and Newburn came to Australia 1839-1870. Can you give dates for your Alexander and Mary KIDD.

I have an Alexander KIDD born 1822 Kilconquhar to Andrew KIDD born 1758 and Joanna Izzat who appear to have had 3 other sons and 2 daughters.

Andrew KIDD b. 1758 was a brother of my ancestor Thomas KIDD 1761-1843 whose 6 children immigrated to Port Phillip, Australia.
