I have been away from my FT search for a while but I remember there was a reference my Aunt Alice (Rosenbrock) Benziger made to a relative named Kick, who was a printer and had a sign that you could see as you went across the bridge from Brooklyn to I believe Staten Island.

I have not seen any references to Kick's in Brooklyn NY. Does anyone have information? Other family names are: Brown, Rosenbrock. TY.

There were quite a few printers in my family and they came from Hesse, Germany --somewhere near darmstadt, I think.Their surname was Kick and they were Jewish. I understand form other sources that it was very unusual for Jewish people to be printers but that is what they were and my Schmidt relatives as well. My surnames are Fink, Schmidt, Kick, Kidd and Firnberg.
Since Kick is a rather unusual name, there is a high probability that we may be related somehow. Some of my family was very frum and the others could hardly shed their tallitim and yarmulkes fast enough once they got to the USA.
