This is getting to be fun !! A whole bunch of Kicks, who, as far as I can tell, are not directly related, but nonetheless are looking for family. Good for you, Kicks !!

My great grandfather Charles, died Dec 1899. I have his approx. DOB looking at census records, and I have a very odd certificate of death that apparently, was redone in the early forties, signed by my great grandmother.

I believe a Kathleen Kick living in Grayslake has responded to this thread - hopefully she is your cousin.

The large Kick family living in Illinois may be a Kick family that lives in and around Kankakee, IL. I had heard about them years ago, but had never met any of them. I am not related to them as far as I know (and it just now occurs to me that I could run a phone listing for Kankakee IL - duh.)

My Charles was born 4/12/1895 and died 2/13/1922. I remember now when I ran the Illinois birth/marriage/death database (that is online, by the way) three Charles Kick's came up dying the the early 1920's. What are the odds of that?

So your grandfather was one of the other ones. My great grandparents were Charles Kick and Emma Nofz (his mother and father.)

Good luck in your searching.
