Hi,
I've been asked a few genealogy questions about Moses, so I thought I'd post what information I know. All is open to revision. I'd like to verify if Moses Kibbey's parents were Moses Kibbe b. 1747 and Ruth Butler b.1751.

I have his birth 14 Feb 1776 Monson, Hampden , Massachusetts , and his death 21 Feb 1832 Pactolus, Carter, Kentucky. I have his marriage to Sarah Everman listed as 13 Apr 1802 in Pactolus, Kentucky.

Additional info from a different site:
(excerpt from Carter County History 1838-1976, pg 37 Pactolus , KY )
"Pactolus is situated two miles north of Grayson. One of the earliest settlers was Moses Kibbey, born in 1776, who came to the Little Sandy Valley (near where Pactolus was later established) around1800. He married Sarah Everman in 1802. He was active in one of the early salt works with Amos Kibbey and Jesse Boone. An 1816 deed records that he bought two tracts of land on Barrett's Creek containing 254 acres for $200 and 104 bushels of salt. Later, he bought more land for three pecks of salt per acre. In an 1824 agreement between David L. Ward and Joseph McCurty, the place was referred to as Pactolus."

I wonder if Jesse Boone was Daniel's son?

One source claims Moses to have been in the War of 1812:
"Pactolus Was The Site Of Eastern Kentucky's First Iron Furnace
Sandy Valley Enquirer
Thursday, December 10, 1942
By H. Rupert WilhoitMoses Kibbey, born in Connecticut in 1776, was an army officer in the
War of 1812. At the close of the war he came to Little Sandy from
Cincinnati, Ohio, near where Pactolus was later established. He married Sarah Everman. He died in 1832.Most of the old families who settled the community are still represented by their descendants in this community. Among them are the Womacks',Hannahs', Gills', Ruperts', Kibbeys', Martins', Thomasons', Barnhills',
Locks', Callihans' and Brammells'."

Moses is listed on the www.findagrave.com website.

I have some trivia that cowboy/actor/singer Roy Rogers is descended from Moses.
"Cowboy Roy Rogers (1911-1998) born Leonard Franklin Slye, Rogers was the son of Andrew E. Slye and Mattie Womack, daughter by Patricia Adeline Hatchett of Archer Womack, son of William Womack and Jacintha Kibbe of the well-studied New England family. Jacinthas parents were Moses Kibbe, Jr. & Sarah Everman, who moved to Greenup Co., Kentucky from Adams Co., Ohio . The descent of Moses Kibbe, Jr. from Boston minister Rev. William Skepper/Skipper (RD) is as follows: Moses Kibbe & Ruth Butler; Jacob Kibbe, Jr. & Abigail Warner; John Warner & Tabitha Abbe; Thomas Abbe & Sarah Fairfield; Walter Fairfield & Sarah Skepper/Skipper; Rev. William Skepper/Skipper & Sarah Fisher"
