roger: the email about australia was concerning the kibbeys over there. there was a david kibbey(who would probably be about your age) receved the olympic torch on sept. 5,2000. he is probably the same david kibbey that ran for office over there. he was also (i believe) a colonel in their army. I found info on that by clicking on Kibbey in your search engine. there is also a student name allison kibbey about 17 years old that lives there and could possible be david kibbeys daughter or gr. daughter. i got the kibbey cemetery info from another emailer. her name is sherry lowe you may be able to find her on one of the message boards. love john

John: I saw your note on Arthur Kitchen. He way my grandmothers (Nora Belle Kibbey - White) half brother, your dads sister. But that is not what this message is about. I found Arthur Kitchen's gravesite near Charlotte Furnace Ky in the McGinnis Kiser Cemetery (dates read 1890 - 1952) along with his wife Frances Kibbey and their son Leonard Farris Kitchen. Thought you might be interested.

My paternal grandfather is Arthur Kitchen of Ky. My grandmother , his wife, Frances Kibbey of Ky. My father, his youngest son, is Luther S. Kitchen, who died in Midland, Texas. I haven't found any information for Arthur, on his parents etc. My Mother, Kathleen Wyatt Kitchen, tells me that he became ill with cancer and stayed with us in Indiana when I was 3 yrs. old, then stayed with an uncle in Ky. where he passed away. I would be grateful for any information on him or his ancestors. Thanks, Geneva Kitchen Andersen

Arthur Saul Kitchen was born 28 Dec 1888 in Willard, Carter County, Kentucky, and died 19 Apr 1951 in Carter County, Kentucky. His mother was Ellen Davidson, daughter of Isom Davidson and Elizabeth Williams. Ellen was born Jan 1863 at Willard, and died Jun 1901 in Kenton, Greenup County, Kentucky, from childbed fevor. Ellen was not married to Arthur's father, who is believed to be William Riley Kitchen, born 02 Aug 1853 at Willard, and died 08 Aug 1920 in Carter County. Arthur had one full sister named Tennessee Davidson, born 24 Nov 1885 at Willard, died 06 Apr 1912 in Greenup County, Kentucky. Tennessee Davidson married Reese D. Horton, and had one child, Elige Arthur Horton, born 1909 in Maddox, Carter County, Kentucky.

Ellen Davidson married Frank L. Kibbey 13 Feb 1891, and they had 4 children: Hattie 1892; Willy 1895; John Wesley 1898; and Nora Belle 1901. Frank was brother to Jim T. Kibbey, who was the father of Arthur's wife, Frances Kibbey.

Ellen had brothers (Uncles to Arthur) named Landon, William, Andrew, John, and Isom. Her sister Rebecca Davidson was married to Robert Walkins, who could be the uncle you refer to, as Arthur and Tennessee were left with the Walkins family after the death of their mother.

William Riley Kitchen had brothers, but only one was living after 1931, that was Francis Marion Kitchen who died in 1954.

Hope this helps!
