Hi John, RylanKibbee8(Ora,Zerah,Elisha,Edward, Elisha Edward) . Rulan's wife was Mary Ann Ensign. He d. Mar 30,1842. In the 1840 census showed a daughter and two sons, Charles and OmanZ. The source for yhis info is taken from "Kibbe Genealogical Notes" by Doreen Potter Hanna, all of which has been proven. I have a copy of this volume.I contacted her (Doreen's)daughters and they agreed to copy it for me, Sadly they weren't at all interested in her reasearch and i have found that there are more pages they didn't copy. My last page is numbered 463. A Kibbee cousin knew Doreen and said ssshe had a stroke and forgot every thing about the Kibbe line. This book is available on film at Salt Lake City. Guess I shoul order it and gain the pages that I don't have. My line is Edward1,Elisha2 Edward 3, Elisha 4, Charles 5 Joel 6, Martin 7, Austin Daniel 8, Thomas Warren 9, Elizabeth Marie 10,My Mom (1878-1966) and me,b. April 8, 1921. Hope this helps you.
the Kibbees helped found Somers. Ct and were in Vt. where Martin 5 settled in Hardwick. This line was the one that settled in Trumbel Co, Ohio.I could tell you more but just got company so I'llsee if this will fly and won't take time to check the spelling so bear with me! For now, Pat Carson

Hi Pat. Thanks for the information. I'm sure my ancestor, Mabel KIBBEE, is closely related to this family, but I'm still not quite sure how. She is about the same age as Mary Ann ENSIGN who married Ryland KIBBEE. Mabel married Chardon ENSIGN at Trumbull County in 1836 at age 14. The marriage record shows her as married with the permission of her mother, Anna KIBBEE. (Mabel's youngest daughter was Sarah ENSIGN, my great-grandmother, who was born in 1862). So the Ensigns and Kibbees are probably related in a couple of places at least. I had thought that Mabel might have been a daughter of Ora KIBBEE (Ryland's father), but then her mother would have been Wealthy Gowdey KIBBEE. From other research, I find that Ora had a sister named Anna. Could Mabel be a child of hers out of wedlock? A person who has sent me information, I think from the same book you refer to, says that Mabel is listed as an "unplaced Ohio Kibbe". I'm eager to discover the relationship to the other Kibbees because it looks like they have an interesting history in Ohio, Connecticut, and Vermont.

I have read your query a few times and dismissed it because it was not an exact match. However, tonight something made me reply. I have Henry A. Kibbee married Mary J. Ford but don't know where they were married. Henry was born in Burlington, VT and Mary in Troy, Miamia county, Ohio. Their children were: 1)Charles Merton Kibbee born about 1873-1874 in Farmington, Geauga county, Ohio. Charles married Louisa C. Stadler. 2) William c. Kibbee married Blanche Painter (????? I'm not sure about this marraige) and Rose Wilhelmy. 3) Minnie L. Kibbee born about 1881 in Ohio, married Charles E. Zimmerman. 4) Bessie Kibbee born about 1883 in Warrensville, Cuyahoga County, Ohio. Bessie married Otto Geiger and I believe married again after his death.

Charles Merton Kibbee aka Merton Kibbee and Louisa Stadler had 5 children: Alvin W. Kibbee (m. Mary Sliwenski), Charles Merton Kibbee (m. Blanche Ptacek), Marie E. Kibbee (m.Henry Rosnagel, Clyde A. Kibbee and Coletta Mildred aka Mildred C. Kibbee (m. Bernard Hintz and Henry Rakoczy).

My grandparents are Marie Kibbee and Henry Rosnagel. Here is the URL for my World Connect Database starting at Henry A. Kibbee.
