James W. Kibbe of Allegheny Co.
James W. Kibbe was born Jan. 18, 1858 in Wellsville, NY and died Mary 21, 1941 in Warren PA and is buried in St. Joseph Cemetery, Warren. I am searching for the names of his parents with William J. Kibbe who was died in the Revolutionary War. According to his military papers, the son was born on the same date and year but the papers state the month of birth as June. James name was Kibbey until his marriage to Adda Mary Ingra(ha)m in 1890 McKean County. At that time his name was changed to Kibbe. His stepson, Oran, went by the name Kibbey but the other children, Charles, Ormel, Dale, David and Caroline, went by the name Kibbe. Any help appreciated.

Re: James W. Kibbe of Allegheny Co.
Hello, I don't understand your message. I am not an expert on the wars and don't want to offend you but if James was born 1858 or 1860 then he was born well after the Rev. war and just before the Civil war. Whose military papers do you have? Also, all of the Kibbe's used different spellings of the name every other year. So the spelling has nothing to do with finding JW's parents. Robin and I gave my cousin Lois in Warren all of this info. to give to you and we have tried to contact you many times. Why don't you ever respond? Bunny

Re: James W. Kibbe of Allegheny Co.
I am sorry. After reading the message again it was confusing. I am seeking the parents of James W. Kibbe. He married my great aunt, Adda Mary Ingram. Prior to their marriage, my aunt Oran. I do not know if she and the father were married. Adda and James were married in 1890 at the Catholic Church, Bradford, McKean County. During my research, I found a William J. Kibbe and thought that he might be James' father. The following information is from the pension records file by Edna. She was living in Kinzua, Warren Co. at this time. Marian was not included but is my guess that he was 16 at the time of the application but it does state that all the children were living. William J. Kibbe died Sept. 20, 1862 from wounds that he had received Sept. 14 at the battle of South Mountain, Md. He was a member of Co. I, Pennsylvania Volunteers. He married Elizabeth Edna Kersy on Dec. 24, 1849 in South Valley, Cattaraugus County, NY. Chdn: Marian Alvoss b. Dec. 6, 1850 Mary Jane, b. Apr. 29, 1852 Celestia Naomia b. Apr. 6, 1854 John Ira b. May 29, 1856 James Kersey b. June 30, 1858
When checking the military files on the internet, James middle intial looked a J and the year was right. I am not aware that anyone has been trying to reach me that I didn't respond. Sorry

Re: James W. Kibbe of Allegheny Co.
I keep a file of Kibbe's and have a James Hiram Kibbe born the 26 Jun 1858 in Harrison twp, Potter County, PA. He was son of Thomas J Kibbe and Dorcas Cotton Kibbe.
I am still looking for the parents of David James Kibbe born 2 Aug 1830 in Johnsburg, Warren, New York who married the above Dorcas's sister, Rachel Cotton. They were in the Liberty, Mckean Co, PA 1860 census living with my great ancestor Michael Clark. I want to find out how they are related to Michael.
Have you looked in the Federal Census for your James Kibbe?
