I am searching for information on George Kezele and Julia Milos Subat Kezele. They came to the United States before 1920. Julia was married to a Subat when she came to America.(When they came to America their name was changed to Shubert.) Then he was killed in a mining accident and she then married George Kezele. Any help would be greatly
appreciated.

Do you have any birth dates for George Kezele and his wife. His parents were? We had Kezeles in my hometown of Dodgeville, MI and I know there were other Kezeles in the Copper Country of MI. Also I ran across Kezeles in the CA birth and death records. You might want to check these out. I have forwarded your query to another Kezele researcher.

My George Kezele was born on January 6, 1890 in AUSTRIA and died on June 27, 1981. He married my grandmother(Julia Milos Subat) in 1914 or 1915 in Dawson, New Mexico. From N.M. they moved to Wyo. He left my grandmother sometime in the 1930's. I found him in Calif. thru this SS Application. He died in Calif. on Jan. 27, 1981. They had the following children:
George Thomas, Annie Velva, Rosa Maria, Mary Magdalene, Tilda, and Anthony. My grandmother had 3 sons by Subat:
Frank, Joe, & John. When Subat came to America his name was changed to Shubert.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

The George Kezele in my file was born Apri 17, 1884 and was born in Delnice, Yugoslavia. He came to Dogeville, Michigan. He came to the staes through New York, New York on the USS Missouri in 1930. He actually travled over and back a couple of times. I have a copy of his Natualization papers. At one point he came through Germany on The Pretoria. His wife was Frances Kezele also born in Delnice. They had 13 children. My husband's father Joseph James was one of his sons.

I have a Geoge Kezele born in Delnice, Yugoslavia on April 17, 1884. He married Frances Mary Gasparac in Delnice and they moved to Dogeville, Michigan and has 14 children. Two were born in Delnice. I have noticed the spelling of George's wife's maiden name is very close to yours. I have never been able to confirm , but I think his father was Anton.

The Kezele's home was a block from where I was born and raised in Dodgeville. Mary Glen (sp) and I were in touch before she passed away so have most of the Gasparac part of the Kezele genealogy from her. I cannot connect our two Gasparac families at this time and have been working on this for about 10 years. However, we ARE related. According to my Aunt, my grandmother's brother (Anton Plese) wed Mrs. Kezele's (Frances Gasparac) sister! That only leaves me with Margareta Gasparac born 2 February 1895. I still haven't figured out if this is how we are related.

Thank you. I have not worked on this for a while now. My sister in law lives in Wisconsin and she goes to Dogeville once in a while. My husband's father is buried in Dodgeville. He died in 1983. He was Joseph James Kezele. He had a sister Anne Marie Kezele Specker that I received a lot of my information from. She died a few years ago. She was one that was born in Delnice and came over on the boat with her parents. The sibilings did not remain close. My husband can not remeber much about any of them. His sister
has been in touch with someone in Dodgeville. It may have been Mary Glen. George petitioned for citizenship in 1915. The paper work shows 12 children. I was always told that one died on the boat. I beleive that Anne told me that she died after they got here. She was born in 1910 and died in 1911. Some of the dates seem off to me. the naturalzation papers are dated 1928 and 1930 after application for citizenship. I found a profeesor in California that did research on Crotian families but whe I contacted him he said that he doesn't do it any more. He did give me another contact. I have not followed up with. I will look for it and forward it to you.
Our son is Joseph James Kezele II after his grandfather who m even I never met. So I started this trying to give him some since of heritage.

I have most of the Kezele data from Mary. Her mother was Aggie Kezele Frechette. I have 14 children in that family. If I remember correctly, one of the Kezele's went to the state of Utah. I may be wrong, but don't think so. The second child was Slava born abt. 17 February 1910 Delnice - died 16 March 1911 Atlantic Mine, MI. Some of the Kezele's are buried at Forest Hill Cemetery in Houghton, MI. There is no cemetery in Dodgeville. If you are interested, I can snail mail you the data I have if you e-mail me your address. I am working with two PC's and can't get the info to this machine. Carolyn Gasperich (cgasperich0531@charter.net)
