Hi Derenda, I was pleased to hear from you. There hasn't been much activity regarding this thread. Indeed, my grandpare4nts were James and Susan Allen. My father was William John Allen, born in Camborne in 1886. He had an older brother Thomas, also born in Cornwall and a sister, Ethel Mae, born here in the US. James and son Thomas came to the US about 1892, worked in the mines in Montana, and then settled in Bessemer, MI to be joined by Susan and son Willam (my father) about 1895. Ethel was born there. We are now an extended family of about 58 not counting spouses. I know only a little about ancestors to James and Susan. James parents were Josiah Allen and Grace ? They had a large family.Josiah married again after Grace died. His father was a William Allen, a thatcher by blacksmith by trade. I know litytle more. Susan was born to John and Anna Kevern(e). That too was a large family. Susan was possibly the eldest. Her mother was born Anna Luke, but I know very little about that line. Susan's parents lived with her in Camborne before she came to the US. Her brother Joseph Kevern and nephew and niece, William and Bessie Truscott came to the US and lived with James and Susan until out on their own. I know much of their families since we spent time with them. Another Kevern (Richard) also lived in my home area although I don't know a great deal about them descendents are in Florida, I believe. Hope this helps you somewhat. I would be happy to share more with you if you are interested.

There are two Jessie Kevern's in my family tree that are from Jo Daviess, Illinois. I think your great grandma descends from Raymond, who is the son of my gggg?grandparents, John Kevern and Mary Ellen Hosking. If you would like more info, feel free to contact me. If you have more info, I would love to compare notes! And I would be interested to know if you got anything from Ken Allen, as my line also includes Allens from Cornwall in the same time period and era. I have tracked the Illinois Keverns to the immigration of John Kevern, born 1808 in Cornwall, in 1837 on the ship Royal Adelaide from Falmouth to New York. He married Jane Vincent in 1839 in Galena, Jo Daviess, Illinois. The John Kevern who married Mary Ellen Hosking was their son.
