Alistair. It would appear that we have a common link. We have descended from a common ancestor John KEVAN b/c 29 May 1798 m Jane/Jean McKERMACK b 1809/1813 son Alexander McCarmick KEVAN b 18 Oct 1841 m Catherine GORDON Alexander KEVAN b 30 Apr 1898 m Georgine GILMOUR b 6 Nov 1903 m 21 Oct 1921

John KEVAN is my 2xGGF. His eldest son Samuel Kevan, Alexander McCarmick KEVAN's elder brother is the line from which I have descended. Would love to know where you fit in to the Kevan line?

Still there?
I am searching for a Margaret Kevan m. Michael Dolan about 1830 in Glasgow. Only record of KEVAN i've found is a death record: MARGARET KEVAN died 5th May 1785\Portnessock, Kirkmaiden, Wigtownshire, Scotland.
bth Mick Dolan was Irish from County Fermanagh or Cavan.
Any connection?
