My grandfather was Albert Kuerleber (members of his generation dropped the first leter "e"). His father Joseph Keuerleber was born in Philadelphia, PA, USA his father, whose name no-one in the family remembers, was born in Germany. Does anyone have information as to when the family may have come to USA, about 1845?

Keurleber Family

Hello! My grandmother was Amy Amelia Keurleber. She was born about 1861 and immigrated to this country when she was about 8 years old. At least this is what the family told about her. I know nothing of her family, but surely wish that I did. I understand that she came from either Stuttgardt or Luxemborg...I am not certain. I have found the name Keurleber mentioned only
a couple of times. One was
Joseph Keurleber PA Found on CD 258 Naturalization Records: Philadelphia 1789-1880
Joseph Keurleber 1538-1940 Location U.S. Found on CD 354 Passenger and Immigration Lists Index 1538-1940.
I cannot tell you where I found this. I had just barely begun looking at Genealogy information and didn't know about records, etc. In trying to clean out some of my files, I ran across this notation. When I first began, I was working with Family Tree Maker and Ancestry.com. Perhaps I found it there. I do know that Amy Amelia married my grandfather, C.H./Charley/Charlie H. Mitchell/Mitchum/Mitcham. I have a beautiful picture of her in a trousseau dress she made for herself for her honeymoon. If you want to know more about her...and if she is one of your ancestors, I will be glad to tell you what I know. You may email me at brummett@dynasty.net. Hope to hear from you.
Do you anything more about the family??? Ruth

Hello,
My grandmother was Rose Bosslet. Her maiden name was Keuerleber. She immigrated to the states around 1908-1910. She was born near the border of France and Germany. When she came to the states she settled in St. Louis and married Joseph Bosslet. They had ten children. My mother is one their two daughters. If you have any information that you think would help with my ancestry compilation, I would appreciate it.

Thank you,

Karen Cook

Hi Karen: It is so exciting to find a connection to the Kerulebers. They are few and far between! My grandmother was Amy Amelia Keurleber who came to the US about 1868. She was about 8 years old when they arrived. I have found very little about any of her relatives. However, when my husband and I went South this past August, we visited her grave in Milan,TN. Then we found more graves who were of people who apparently were her brothers and other family members. They spelled the name as Kieleber. I have just had hand surgery and my hand is not working too well. I will look up other names I have and send them to you to see if we can connect...as soon as my hand is working better! I also have the name of a man in PA who might know more about the family. Give me a few days and I will get back to you. Let's keep in touch! Ruth

Thank you for your response. The information you sent sounded a lot like my grandmother. I will forward this to my mom and uncle to make sure about her b-day. Please research anything other information that you can find.

Thank you!
