KETCH/KEETCH NB, CAN: William (s/o John KETCH and Mary) & Abigail ANDERSON
William KETCH was born abt. 1796 in Queensbury Parish, York Co., New Brunswick. William married Abigail ANDERSON (daughter of William ANDERSON and Sarah GRAY) on 20 Jun 1817 in Queensbury Parish, York Co., New Brunswick. SOURCE: William Ketch and Abigail Anderson married 20 June 1817, Queensbury Parish, York County, New Brunswick; Index No. 1 to Register of Marriages in the County of York [New Brunswick] 10 July 1812 to 31 December 1825, p. 78; Microfilm No. 1508754, Family History Library, Salt Lake City, UT. (From research of Al Prosser)
Abigail was born 20 Aug 1798 in New Brunswick (LDS Film# 6142786).
"William and Abigail came to Ontario from New Brunswick in 1838 with six children, Mary was born in Ontario." (From Faye Keetch genealogy research in letter dated Dec. 21, 2000 to Melissa Kluey.)
William and Abigail's children:
1) Nelson KETCH born 6 Feb 1818 in Queensbury Parish, York Co., NB Faye seems to think he could also be named "William Nelson", but several records seem to indicate that his name was probably Nelson.
2) Charles KETCH born 20 Sep 1822 in Queensbury Parish, York Co., New Brunswick SOURCE: Charles KETCH Sex: M Event(s): Birth: 20 Sep 1822 New Brunswick Parents: Father: William KETCH Mother: Abigail ANDERSON Film# 2034645 Faye indicated that Charles's birthday was on the 28th of Sep so I'm writing to her to ask her about it. Find out which source she received her birth date from. I have nothing further on Charles, at this time. I do not know when he died, who he may have married or if he had any children or not.
3) William KETCH born 11 Aug 1828 in Queensbury Parish, York Co., New Brunswick. 4) John KETCH born Abt 1830 in Parish of Queensbury, York Co., New Brunswick 5) Lavina KETCH born 4 Mar 1832 in Queensbury Parish, York Co., New Brunswick 6) Isabella KEETCH born 22 Mar 1833 in New Brunswick 7) Mary Matilda KETCH born 12 Jan 1839 in York County, Ontario

Re: KETCH/KEETCH NB, CAN: William (s/o John KETCH and Mary) & Abigail ANDERSON
Hi, I somehow stumbled upon your message. The Willaim and Abigail you refer to as your 4th grandparents are also my 4th (if I count correctly). Their 3rd child, also named William, married Eliza Leopard and among their many children was an Archibald Ketch. Archibald is my greatgrandfather, but I only know that through family members; I have never been able to find anything in any records. Which of William and Abigail's children do you trace through?

Re: KETCH/KEETCH NB, CAN: William (s/o John KETCH and Mary) & Abigail ANDERSON
Greetings Mary, I'm going to try replying here and via email. William and Abigail's eldest son, Nelson married Martha TACKABERRY. They had 11 children. They're daughter Susan KETCH married Joseph KLUEY. Joseph and Susan had three children, their youngest Stanley KLUEY (my great-grandfather) married Harriet BROWN. Stanley and Harriet had five children, four girls and a boy. The son, Grant Goldwin KLUEY (my grandpa) married Helen JACKSON. They had three sons, the middle child is Barry KLUEY, my father. I have three siblings; my sister Teresa "Terri", James "Jim" and myself, Melissa. I am not married but I have a great mate, and a daughter of my own named Shannon. She's five years old. I can send you more specifics later. Now.. let's see here... Yes, William KETCH married Eliza LEOPARD (she was his second wife, did you know that?). I have nine children listed for William & Eliza, of which Archibald is the fourth eldest. I have Archibald's birth being 30 Oct 1870 in Egremont Twp., Grey Co., ON. That birthday is from the research of Faye Keetch of Ontario. William was married to a woman named Clarey WILDER first and they had three children together: Charlotte (b. 1854), Sarah (b. 1856) and Thomas Coleman (b. abt 1859). Clarey died when the children were only 6, 4, and 2 years old. William married Eliza about 3 years after Clarey had passed away. I have further notes and details I will be happy to pass along off the bulletin board. I know nothing further on Archibald, who he married, descendants, nothing. So anything you can share would be wonderful. Thank you for posting. I sincerely appreciate you connecting with us Ketch/Keetch researchers and genealogists. Take care, Melissa Kluey

Melissa, Do you have a Francis Jane Ketch in your records? I have a Francis Jane d/o William and Abigail Ketch who married John Thompson in 1837. Also William's son Archibald married Margaret Thompson on Oct 31, 1899 in Huntsville, Ontario. Margaret was my g.g. Aunt. I would love to get in touch with you to share information on this family. Do you know how to get a hold of Mary Ketch Vincent? She would be my 3rd cousin. Thanks Sue

Re: KETCH/KEETCH NB, CAN: William (s/o John KETCH and Mary) & Abigail ANDERSON
Has anyone found Francis Jane Ketch? I am still looking for the connection between her and William Ketch. I beleive that she a daughter to William Ketch and Abigail Anderson. No where can we find her parents listed. Francis married John Thompson on Jan 20, 1837 in N. Gwillumbury, York Co. Ontario. She was born abt. Sept 1819. this being 2 years after William and Abigail were married and one year after their first son Nelson. Francis and John lived near or beside the Ketch boys in at least three diferent locations in Ontario. Williams son Archie later went on to marry Francis's grandaughter Margaret in 1893. If anyone can help me locate the missing peice of the puzzle i would be forever gratefull.
