MRS. MARIE DORA LUNGHUS

The death of Mrs. Marie Dora Lunghus, relict of Ernest Lunghus and one of the oldest residents of Chatsworth, occurred at her late home on East Locust street on Wednesday (June 8) morning at about four o'clock, death being the result of old age.
Marie Dora Kerr was born at Neustadt-An-Reuhmberger, Hanover, Germany, on April 2, 1826. She was united in marriage with Ernest Lunghus at Gerhden, near the city of Hanover, in 1856, seven children being born to the union, four having preceded the mother in death.
In 1866 Mr. and Mrs. Lunghus brought their family to America, locating in Chicago, and in 1867 they came to Chatsworth, where Mr. Lunghus was employed in the Germania Sugar company's factory. Following the financial collapse of the Germania Sugar company, Mr. Lunghus engaged in various pursuits, and for many years conducted a saloon in this village. His death occurred in 1897, since which time Mrs. Lunghus had continued to reside in their little home on East Locust street, where her death occurred.
In addition to a large circle of friends deceased is survived by three daughters -- Sophia, wife of John Brown, of this city, Augusta, wife of Gustave Bork, who resides south of Chatsworth, and Ida, wife of William Bork, who resides near Thawville.
The funeral services are being held this Friday afternoon at the German Lutheran church, Rev. H. Koepp, of Charlotte, officiating, and the interment will be beside the remains of the husband in the Chatsworth cemetery.
