Thanks for your reply.
Do you know if other members of the Samuel Kerr family were stone masons or just John Kerr?
By tracing John & Mary Kerr in the 1861 and 1871 census they are living at Lot 17, Conc 1 of Albion Tshp.
This would be on Airport Rd (Albion/Chinguacousy townline) just south of the village Caledon East. Airport Rd north leads directly to Mulmur in Simcoe where James M Kerr lived and farmed.
I also found military records for a Samuel Kerr from Armagh serving in Canada (46th Foot Soldiers) as part of the Canada, British Regimental Registers of Service, 1756-1900 in 1803 and 1804.
Do you know if his military service could be the basis of Samuel Kerr and sons applying for their land grants in Albion?
