LAKE Katharine Ann Kerr Lake, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at home in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Born April 14, 1925 in Lima, Ohio to Charlotte Sieber Kerr and Robert Kenneth Kerr.
In 1935 the family moved to Lancaster, (Fairfield County) Ohio and her father served as Publisher of the Lancaster Eagle-Gazette.
She graduated from Columbus School for Girls in Columbus, Ohio.
Upon completion of Washington School of Secretaries, Washington, D.C she became secretary to Governor Frank J. Lausche of Ohio.
She is predeceased by her parents, her brother R. Kenneth Kerr, husband John Byron "Jack" Lake, former Publisher of the St. Petersburg Times who died in 2000.
She is survived by her three daughters, Charlotte Lake (Thomas) McGahan of Leawood, Kansas, Cynthia Ann Lake and Diane Lake (John) Weatherell, St. Petersburg; and five devoted grandchildren, John Frederick, Courtney Ann and Katharine Lake Katzenberger, Houston Sieber McGahan and Ian Lake Weatherell; and her brother, John Emery Myers Kerr Sr., Athens, Ohio.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 9, 2010 at Northeast Presbyterian Church, 4400 Shore Acres Blvd., St. Petersburg, Florida.
She will be interred at Maple Grove Cemetery, Lancaster, Ohio in the spring.
