Coming late to this party - my wife is also descended from John McNeish and Mary Kerr, of Kilmory. We were just over on the Isle of Arran, and visited Kilmory, stayed in Lamlash. Still some McNeishes on the island, but cannot identify how John was related. The other McNeish (shown as either Donald or Daniel) who was married to Margaret Hamilton, and also emigrated from Arran, may or not be related to John. The thing is, I cannot find, on Scotland's People OPR search, any record at all of John's birth, marriage, or the birth of his first son. Neither does there appear to be any record of his arrival in New Brunswick, so cannot trace him back to Scotland and his relationship with other MacNeishes. Can you help?
