YOUNGSTOWN - Muriel Rapovy, 86, of the city’s west side, passed away peacefully late Wednesday morning, Nov. 26, 2014, at her home surrounded by her family, following an extended illness.

Muriel was born July 10, 1928, in Youngstown, Ohio (Mahoning County) a daughter of the late August and Elsie Kerbata, and was a lifelong area resident.

Muriel was a graduate of Scienceville High School, and also worked for a time for General Electric at the Mazda Lamp Plant.
She was a member of St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church in Austintown.
Mrs. Rapovy enjoyed bingo, arts and crafts, and she especially enjoyed the time she spent with family and friends.
Muriel leaves her beloved husband, Peter Rapovy, whom she married in 1948; four sons, Michael (Kathy) Rapovy of Youngstown, Robert (Gina) Rapovy of Austintown, Ohio, Peter (Lori) Rapovy of Youngstown, and Joseph Rapovy of Struthers, OH; five grandchildren, Shannon, Michael, Taylor, Tiffany, and Heather; and two great-grandchildren, Brayden and Cylus.

Two sisters, Doris Hospodor and Betty Hitchings, preceded her in death.
Family and friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 29, at St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, on the corner of Kirk and Raccoon Roads in Austintown, Ohio, where a Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at 11 a.m.
Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown.
