Re: David Ker and David Corbin Ker
My name is Bill St. John. My mother, Anne Ker, daughter of Aubrey Ker and granddaughter of David Corbin Ker, married my father, Mackie Doyle St. John about 1930 and divorced within a couple of years. My mother left me with her mother, Minnie Shults Ker, and her brother David (my uncle), somewhere in Arizona. My father collected me when I was about 4 years old and took me to Olney, Texas, to live with my grandparents, Mack and Alice St. John.
I am interested in locating surviving Ker relatives. I have photos and correspondence of Aubrey Ker and Minnie Shults Ker.

Re: David Ker and David Corbin Ker
Dr. David Corbin Ker, son of David Ker and Frances Tucker, was born in 1772 in Virginia and died in 1840 in New Orleans. He married in 1796 in Fredericksburg, VA, Margaret Benson, b. 1781 in Spotsylvania, VA, dtr. of John Benson and Eleanor Baggett. He had 10 children, including 3 sons but no David Jr. The only line I have traced is his daughter Ellen Blanchard Ker, who married Thomas Shields of New Orleans. This Ker family is often confused with the family of David Ker, b. 1758 in Ireland, d. 1805 in Adams Co., MS, mar. in 1787 in Ireland Mary Boggs, 1757-1847. I have found no connection between the two families.

Re: David Ker and David Corbin Ker
I am the great great grandson of Croghan Ker, youngest son of David Corbin Ker. We have quite a bit of the family history including copies of the Texada papers. Groghan died in New Mexico around the mid 1850's and is buries at the National cemetary in Santa Fe.

I do not list Aubrey Ker as a dtr. of David Corbin Ker and Margaret Benson. The children I have are William Harvey, Ellen Blanchard, John James, Laurette, Caroline H., Celeste, Cora, Frances, Robert and Croghan.
