Anyone else out there related to the Ker family born in Peterculter, Aberdeenshire? The children of Robert Ker & Agnes Scroggie were William (1793) John (1795) James (1798) Margaret (1780), Robert (1802) & Isabel (1804).
Robert & Isabel died after 3 April 1881 but I don't know when. They were not married and neither was William.
James married but had no children.
Margaret married Alexander Duthie and went to live in Montrose, Angus. I think she had just the one son.
John left Scotland, married in London, went to Devon, returned to London and then set up his nursery business in Birmingham. He had 9 children, 7 of whom married and had children.

We have only one R in our surname! However, I am fully aware that this can be doubled at will, but we do like to think we have the original spelling!
Do any of your Kers come from Aberdeenshire?
Robert Ker, son of William Ker was baptized 8th February 1752 in Peterculter, Aberdeenshire. Their home was in Auchlee, quite nearby.
I don't know who his mother was as I have not been able to find a marriage of William Ker.
I know there were Kers at Auchlee back in the 1600s but have not been able to make the connection - yet!
The Kers are from the Lothian region in the borders and my family had always thought they were borderers so what they were doing all the way up in Aberdeen I do not know.
Look forward to hearing from you.
Regards,
Barbara
