Hiya - are there any Kers left in Scotland? Does anybody have any ancestors from the Morebattle, Roxburghshire area of Scotland, round about the 17oo's?
Let us know if there are,
Yours sincerely,

Yes, there are Kers left in Scotland - lots of them! My grandad's family come from Annan in Dumfrieshire. There are a few Ker farms in that area.

I just discovered this message board. My ancestor Thomas KER, was from the Sprouston, Kelso area in Roxburghshire. He left that area in 1796, and settled in the Niagara Region of Ont. Canada until his death in 1855. Would like to hear from any KERs from this area.

My g-g grandfather was Adam Ker, born 1809 in Roxboroughshire, Scotland near Hawick. He married Martha Rutherford (b.1808) in Scotland then both emigrated to Galt, Ontario, where they had Elizabeth, James, Mary, Isabel and Mary. Any information about the Scottish Kers, or how to trace them, will be very much appreciated

These are ancestors of my husband, Martin Craig. We have come to live in the Reivers Area of the Scottish Borders in the hope of linking to the Kerr ancestry which was once strong when the Kerrs Clan held the Jedburgh area.
