In the family of Reese Jones (my DH's great-grand), immigrant from Wales and neighbor of E. K., two of the sons were named after him (one Essington and one Kephart). Both also became M.E. ministers when they grew up. We have noticed a lot of other boys in that community bore those same names. We guess Reese's family surely were among Rev. K's congregation, and that he must have been a very beloved minister.

We wonder if anyone knows whether that local church and/or Rev. Kephart had any special involvement in sponsoring or recruiting folks from Wales to settle in Venango. We think Reese and his wife were possibly beneficiaries of such a project. Family and/or regional history researchers, does this sound at all likely?

J.

Hi Patsy
I have an Essington in my tree from David b abt 1839 & I have Elizabeth as his , but could be your Mary Elizabethton Millward. My tree does show A, n & Sarah as children but I don't have the others, nor good dates for anyone.

My Gm was a Kephart from that area of Pa & I grew up there

I would love to compare more of your tree if you wouldn't mind sharing/ exchanging info.
