Hi Deb- I believe the James Keough you are looking for was my great-grandfather. Irene Keough was my grandmother. I don't have much information on the family. I was hoping to learn more and do some genealogy research. Please contact me so we can share what we do know. phoenix71975@yahoo.com

I think I also know how Lillian Kehoe and Margaret Keating fit into the family. I read that he was the nephew of Margaret Hogan, but I'm still not sure about that connection.

Please contact me! Thanks!

Patrick Keough B:1829-Ireland, D:1874 in Franklin Co., Iowa married in New Brunswick, NJ to Bridget Murphy B:1835-Ireland, D:March 9, 1911 in Franklin, Co., Iowa. Some of their children were born in New Jersey, and some in Iowa. I have found them on the 1870 census living in Iowa but no list for New Jersey. Does anyone have a history on either one of these people before 1870? Also, am looking for Patrick's siblings and parents.

Thomas Keough died in Jan 1928 in Garner, Iowa and is buried in St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery in Ackley, Iowa.

If anyone had any additional information on Thomas Keough or his wives, I'd sure be interested in hearing it.

Thanks

Need help locating Eliza Keough

I am trying to research my ggrandmother Eliza Keough Boylan (Boylen). She was born in Germany, according to the 1860 census. I am assuming she died before 1870 since she is not listed on that census with her husband and children. Her last child was born in 1868 or 1869.

The 1860 census shows her living near Bordentown, Burlington County, NJ, with her husband James Boylen, her daughter Mary, and her father John Heal (born in Germany).

Her fourth daughter Ellen lists her mother as Eliza Keough on her marriage record. So, I believe that her father's name was not "Heal" but Keough. Her other daughters have listed their mother as Eliza Kehl or Hehl.

I have been trying to find a record of her for 2 years with no luck.

If anyone has any information - it surely would be appreciated.

Hi, I am searching for a Thomas Keough and Loretta (Schlarmann) (Schlickmann).

They would have been married shortly after 1910, when Loretta's first husband John Henry Schlarmann died. Loretta and John Henry Schlarmann had a son Edward (or Edwin) who would have been brought into the marriage and probably adopted by Thomas Keough.

The indications I have is Loretta was born in New York and was the daughter of John Schlickmann and Mary Fangmann, but this is pretty sketchy at this point.

Any help would be appreciated if this sounds familiar.

My immediate ancestor, gggrandfather, Timothy, emigrated from Wexford to St. John, NB in 1814. As someone once put it, "that town was three miles deep in Irishmen, all the way around the port".

However, Timothy had an uncle, Matthew, who retired as a captain from the British army around 1775, and who was, probably more than once, stationed in Newfoundland. His regiment was split in 1774, with half going back to Wexford and the other half being dispatched to Boston around the time of the Boston Massacre. I am told also that among the Kehoes involved in fishing and trade, there was a branch of the family that owned its own shipping to and from Newfoundland. They mainly sailed out of New Ross.

It doesn't appear to be the same family. Did you Keough family spend any time in Canada? Con Keough's father's name was Roger, according to his wife - if the death certificate is accurate. I haven't seen any evidence of siblings named Nancy or Margaret yet. He did travel to the Upper Michigan mining area with a Patrick Keough, who could be a brother or nephew.

Looking for family of James Kehoe/Keough b. bet. 1899-1900 married to Lillian b. abt. 1902 in NY. They had son James b. abt. 1920. In the 1930 census they lived in Brooklyn on 50th Street. James Sr. was a police officer. Also living in the household was Margaret Keating (sister-in-law) b. abt. 1902 and her daughter Dorothy b. abt.1925. I would like to know the relationship between the Kehoe and Keating family's to Maraget Sweeny Hogan b. bet. 1870-1873 in Irland and died on Sept. 13, 1938 in a bus accident on the way home from visiting her "nephew, James Keough, a NY police officer" according to an article in the Boston Globe. I would also like to know how to research James employment. Please email Sharelli@aol.com

Hi Nancy,
I'm so sorry, but I don't think your Jeremiah (Darby) and mine are the same person, I base this on Darby's children's Catholic baptismal records found in Montreal, Canada. I am guessing that the Godparents are Jeremiah's brothers and sisters: Sarah, Richard, Michael and Charles Keough.

I was really hoping I found a cousin just as I imagine you were to. If you have any knowledge of these people, I mentioned maybe we can figure something out, I'll be gone for the next couple of weeks, but will email you with other information, if you would like.

Carole

His Father was Michael Keogh from England, married to Catherine Feeney. Martin's wife was Mary Mahoney and they were my Grandma Katherine's parents. Any of this ring in with your family? He had a brother John and two sisters.

hello
i am looking for information on the parents of margaret, mary, susan, and albert keough. they lived in lowell, MA in 1900, but were born in "english Canada". family history says that they were orphaned and taken in by a family named Burns of the Sacred Heart Church in Lowell. the priest at sacred heart had a friend in canada, who knew these children needed a home and sent them to lowell. there is also speculation that the children were related to Myles Keogh (battle of the little big horn). any information on their parents would be greatly appreciated.

I believe she had a twin brother maybe named Buddy. My Mother talked often on the phone wi8th Katherine Mann and all of the other cousins. Here husband's name is a sure think--Frederick Mann.
