I am trying to identify the parents of Joshua Kendall (1746/7 - 1837), who married Dorothy Warner in Harvard, Mass. in 1771.
When I look at the 60-ish public trees on Ancestry, his parents' names are either blank or are Isaac and Elizabeth (Richardson) Kendall. Only one tree indicates that his parents were Joshua and Esther (Buck) Kendall.
What is the evidence being used for attributing Joshua's father as being Isaac?
When I search the Mass. Vital records via NEHGS, there is only one Joshua Kendall recorded as having been born in Mass. (9 Feb. 1747) during the time frame of 1744 to 1748. He is the son of Joshua and Esther (Buck) Kendall (who were married in Woburn in 1745).
The other document that agrees with this vital record was done by Rev. Frederick Lewis Weis in Lancaster, Mass. in 1939. Weis' research of the Kendall family states that Joshua-5 (Joshua-4, Joseph-3, Jacob-2, Francis-1) was "probably the son of Joshua and Esther (Buck) Kendall, was born at Woburn, February 9, 1746/7. He married at Harvard, April 16, 1771, Dorothy Warner, born at Harvard, July 7, 1751, the daughter of Joshua and Dorothy (Brown) Warner."
What records have I missed that confirms Isaac Kendall as being the parent of Joshua?
Also, has anyone transcribed Joshua Kendall's Rev. War pension record?
Thank you in advance for your help in identifying Joshua Kendall's parents.
