Hazel E. Williams
Mrs. Williams, 78, of 710 Rockingham Ave., Roaring Spring, died at 8:45 a.m. Sunday, March 27, 1983, in her home.
Mrs. Williams retired as a saleswoman from Klevan’s Clothing Store, Roaring Spring, in 1966. She had a also been a Prudential Insurance agent for several years and had operated a gift shop in Roaring Spring for 3 years.
She was born Oct. 10, 1904, in Hollidaysburg, the daughter of William H. and Rosie Ann (Greaser) Kemberlin, and Nov. 29, 1923, in Lock Haven, married Carl H. Williams.
Surviving are her husband, four children: Mrs. Betty Jean Hoover of Roaring Spring, Mrs. Joyce Kushinka of Somerville, N.J.; the Rev. J. Carl of Wellsboro and Mrs. Diane W. Oyler of State College; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Also surviving is a brother, Harry R. of Altoona.
Mrs. Williams was a member of the trinity United Methodist Church, Roaring Spring, and Good Cheer Circle and was a charter member of the United Methodist Women.
She was the recipient of the 20-year plaque for service with the March of Dimes.
She served on the Blair County Board of Assistance for six years and served as Democratic Committee Women in Blair County for six years. She was also past president of the roaring Spring Women’s Club and a member of the Nason Hospital Auxiliary.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the J. Gary Thompson Funeral Home, Roaring Spring.
WILLIAMS-Services for Hazel E. Williams of Roaring Spring will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Trinity United Methodist Church, Roaring Spring, by Dr. Brinton Shafer. Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg. Friends will be received from 2 to4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the J. Gary Thompson Funeral Home, Roaring Spring. Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church Memorial Fund or to the Roaring Spring Community Library.
