Richard,do you know anything about you ggrandfather, James.Like where he lived or for that matter any of your ancestors. If you find that he lived or was born in Wiltshire or indeed your KEMM family originated from Wiltshire,as mine did , there could be a possibility of a connection because I know of some of my ancestor's moving to London. Hope to here from you soon ! Regards Geoff

My grandfather was Frederick James Kemm, his father was James Kemm, married to Jane Kemm (nee May). Frederick was born on 6th December 1882 in London. Whether his father was from Wiltshire I am afraid I don't know, but I have heard of a Wiltshire connection before relating to our family name.
My grandfather was killed at one of the battle of the Somme at Ypres in WW1 (Saturday, 25th September 1915. I have just been to see his memorial. His name is on the Menin Gate at Ypres. He fought with 9th Battalion, Rifle Brigade.
Does anyone have any further info?

Hi Richard.
My wife's Great Grandmother, Eleanor May Kemm was Frederick James' (Jimmy) sister. I'm pleased to make contact with you.
We may have a photo or two of Jimmy and of his parents (James Kemm (1849-1911) and Jane Kemm (nee May) 1854-?).
We spoke to my mother-in-law a few weeks ago about him. I'll check the notes that I made.
You may be interested to know that my daughter is travelling to Ypres next month with her school.
We have found some information about the battle on 25 September 1916 on the internet and am happy to copy this to you along with the photos and this line of the family tree, which we have back to about 1700.
Best regards.

Richard.
Further to my email earlier this evening.
I have found the notes that I made some weeks ago. I can confirm that your grandfather, Frederick James Kemm, was my wife's Great Great Uncle. However, I must apologise for refering to him as 'Jimmy', who was one of your grandfather's great nephews.
Please find a photograph of your great grandfather James Kemm (1849-1911) attached.
Regards.
Paul
