Hi there,

I hope you're well. Just happen to come across your post while surfing the web. Couldn't believe there were so many people with the name of Kelbie and Watson, I have both - My granny's name was Jane Kelbie Watson and I have her name too, but don't know her maiden name, think it could be Soutar. My dad's name was John Watson. My grandfather and grandmother lived on Park Place in a big house across from a school. I remember they used to talk about being related to Frank Kelbie the rag and bone man @ that time, now of course I believe a rather big concern now in Dundee. I left Dundee 42 years ago, I am now 65 years old and live down south. My parents of course are no longer with us but I have really fond memories of spending nearly every weekend @ my grand parents house when I was a young lass. My mum and dad started their life in a 2 roomed house in Cherryfield Lane, just off the Blackness Road then subsequently Constitution Road. Ah wonderful memories!!! If you think we could related too, do get in touch.

Take Care

Hello Jane
My late wifes name was also Jane Kelbie. I have been doing the KELBIE tree for about 20 years now and, as yet, do not have a JOHN WATSON (your father). I do have the SOUTAR name mixed up with the Kelbies but have never found out just how it mixes in.
JANE SOUTAR WATSON KELBIE b. 1902 Lochee d.Jul 1985 Dundee - could this be your grandmother? If so I can fill you in on your ancestry.

Regards
Bill

Hi There - was searching for my granny and came across your post. Jane Soutar Watson Kelbie was my grandmother. If Jane is looking for John Watson her father, Jane must be my cousin.

Hello Jean
Yes, my late wife Jane, would be your 2nd cousin, once removed (according to FTM).

I have been doing the KELBIE tree for about 20 years now and have amassed quite a bit of information. However, recently I have put it on a lower priority as I found my own family after a visit to Canada and have been concentrating more on them. I do still collect more info on the KELBIEs on each visit to Edinburgh and this fills in the extended family tree (currently this is nudging 6000 individuals).
Specifically on your granny, I only hold details on her but none of her descendants. I would be grateful if you could fill me in a bit - at least down to yourself.
I do know that there is information - trees, etc., - posted on the web, but I neither look at them nor correct them. I promised myself that I would never post the data that I have onto the web, but am willing to part with it to members of the extended family. So if you require anything I am happy to send it to you, or go looking for it for you

Seasonal Greetings

Bill

Hello Laura
There are quite a few of us who have been sharing the Kelbie family history, and we have established a KELBIE CLAN group on FB - you'd be very welcome to join us and see some wonderful photographs of your relations.
