Hello. I adopted my son from Hawaii. Born 11/9/87 at Kapiolani. He was palced with me (military family) for foster care through social services and I ended up afdopting him. I got him when he was 3 months old. His bio- mom was in an out of prison. I was listed that he has 9 other siblings before him and possible some after him. I have researched the Kekuewa family but have found very little. Birth name... A.Cordero Kekuewa. He's Hawaiian and Carcasion. We've moved to Alabama. It is my understanding that the others were adopted out as well. mothers name was Charmine Kekuewa. If you can help in any way please email me at:bamalaydee@yahoo.com

My grandfather was Obed KEKUEWA aka Harry Obed Wright. His parents were William Ellis WRIGHT, Sr. and Lucy Kenekaole KEKUEWA. Lucy had 10 siblings and her parents were Keolewa KEKUEWA and Loika KAMAILOHI. My Kekuewas were from Honaunau, Hawai`i.

Does this connect with anybody else's family?

My grandfather's name was Obed, my father was William (Kekuewa)Wright and his brothers are Kalani, Edward, Thomas and Harry, his sisters are Blossom (Kaui) and Keala.

If I read this right Tommy Ann is Thomas's daughter.
I am Bill's daughter, my sister is Tammy Jean, my brother's William Jr., and Michael.

If Tommy Ann is your cousin, I would be too.

Anyone?

Sydney,
You are correct, we are very much related. I am your Aunty's Blossom's daughter Monikalynn. My siblings are Kalani, Annamarie and U`ilani.

It's very nice to meet your acquaintance again after so many years. Would love to chat and share stories. Mom and Uncle Kalani are going to be excited when I tell them that I reconnected with you.

Oh my goodness, I think I'm so excited I may just burst...

Please let me know if this connects with any of you!!

My grandmother was married to Arthur Wright, a very illusive man but what I have been told was that he was born in HI, father was Harry Wright, mother was named Annie Kalalahua (I may have butchered that - forgive me!). Now very recently I came across some papers of my grandmother (Art's wife) that had his name originally as Arthur Kekuewa, and his father as Harry Oebed Kekuewa.

I was told that they changed the name from Kekuewas to Wright - something about running for office against a man with the same name??

Then I stumble across this board and I see posts with the same names mentioned...did I find my "Ohana"??

Anxious to hear from ANYONE on this!!
