Dear Mary,

With that last bit of info you were able to send, we have hit the jackpot. When Nichlas Keiderling & his wife Barbara c. Eimer came to this country, they brought 4 boys with them. Charles (Carl], Henry [Heinrich], Martin & Adam. They did settle in N.J. & then had Catherine & Nicklas there. Martin & his wife later went to Iowa taking Nick with them & so the Iowa family started. Charles went to Iowa first & married Emma J. Denny & they also started their family The original Nichlas & Barbara came on the ship, Elise, in 1854 & the ship log tells they were headed for Wisc. but they didn't get any further then N.J (my home state] there is no way to tell why they settled there, tired of traveling, sickness, etc. My e-mail is boopty@eazy.net. Helen,
So good to hear that I could help with a piece the puzzle. I have found most of the burial sites in Iowa and would love to travel up there one day. Has anyone found out exactly which part of Germany they traveled from. Have you seen the logs?
