My mother's maiden name was Keich. She was the daughter of Florence Keich(unmarried). Her mother,my Ggrandmother was Mary Elizabeth Keich nee Spotts. Mary married Ernest Keich a widower from PA in 1901. The marriage certificate can be obtained from the Clerks office. Ernest, who was much older and born in 1869 had brothers named John,William,Harris,born1880,1881,1882;respectively.His mothers' name was Christina Keich, born in PA of German parents. They can be found in the 1900 census for Tamaqua Borough, sheet B 13.Tell me more about your Ida Keich. Your Great Cousin Charlotte

Hello:
I am a relative and descendent of the Keich Family of Tamaqua, though my knowledge about them is somewhat limited. In fact, I'm trying to find out something about them myself. My mother's maiden name is Charlotte Mae Keich. She's the daughter of the late Charlie Keich and the late Mabel Woodring. Charlie and his brother John began Keich Motors in Tamaqua circa 1925. Charlotte is still alive and doing very well (she's only in her 60s). What I'm trying to determine is what happened to my ancestors on this side of the family. When I was a kid, Charlie told me of a mine cave-in which killed his ancestors (if I remember correctly, he said they were the family of his grandfather or great-grandfather) in about 1870. I'm not sure where it happened, though I know it was in northern Schuylkilll County. I've been trying to find out anything I can about it but have found nothing. I'd greatly appreciate any information anyone can share with me. If it's not too much trouble, I'd love it if anyone could e-mail me directly with anything at all. Thank you.

I don't think we are a relation. This Keich name was related to founder of Tamaqua, Burkhardt Moser. I know of Keich Motors, it is neare my parents home and they have done business w/them for years.

do you have a Rebecca Kuech married to a William Whetstone in Tamaqua? she was born in 1872. Her father was Conrad Kuech, born in 1835, wife was Barbara Elizabeth Oschmann. Conrad's siblings were Rebeka, Regina, and George Gottlieb. i have the spelling from Hessen Germany as Kuech.
