I'm looking for information on 2 sisters, Anna and Caroline Keibel, who lived in Chicago, Illinois about 1880. They married two Hartmann brothers. Anyone with information who would like to share?

I'd like to make a correction on the spelling of the name. I have found out through a marriage license that the spelling of Caroline and Annie was Kiebel. Anyone related

Hello,
I never thought I'd see someone answering my query about Annie Kiebel. But i'm very glad I have. I don't know if this is any relation but it could be. Annie Kiebel was born 11-1863, and married my grandfather Theodore Hartmann in Cook County on 5-5-1885. Her sister Caroline E. Kiebel was married to my granfathers brother Peter J. Hartmann in Cook County on 10-24-1882. I havent gotten to the research yet about her family so I don't know her history to much. If this is any help let me know. Thanks alot and I hope this helps you.

Hello Leslie,

I have received your email about Kiebel family.
Thanks alot for your promtly answer.
I will give you some Information about Matthew Kiebel.
He is born Jan 1863, died 24 Aug 1911, married 25 Nov 1885
Anna Riebel(maiden name).
I suppose Matthew is a brother of Annie and Caroline Kiebel.
Two of his daughters had the same name like his sisters.
In the estate of my grandfather, I found photos, made in Chicago.
and l letter of Anna Kiebel from Oct 18, 1947. Her address was:
Anna Kiebel, 4349 N. Paulina, Chicago, Illinois. At that time she was
84 Years old and had daughters, grandchilds and great-grandchilds in Chicago.
She wrote, that one son of the Kiebel familiy, John Kiebel, were living in Mobile Alabama.
I had three great-grand-uncle who immigrated the U.S.
Matthew Kiebel born 3 Mar 1833/ ?
Nicolaus Kiebel born 13 Sep 1834/ ?
Peter Kiebel born 08 Aug 1838 /immigrated 1857 to a brother to U.S.
Last week I found out the descendants of Peter Kiebel in Mansfield, Richland, Ohio.
Maybe Nicolaus Kiebel is the father of Matthew, Annie and Caroline.
Do you can find out the father's name of Annie and Caroline?

I hope you stay in touch with me. I look forward to hearing from you.
(Excuse my English)

Best regards

Mechthild

Dear Mechthild,

I just want to say first your English is very good and your so lucky to be able to converse in a second language. Wish I could do the same.
Well I talked to my Aunt, which Annie is her grandmother, and she told me that our Annie died before 1941--but she did say that there was a Nicolaus she remembered related somehow to Annie. With the information you gave me I can look up in the census and find out for us if there is any relation there.
I do have a picture of Annie at about 60 yrs of age. If you would like I could email the picture to you and see if there's any resemblace there.
Hope to hear from you.

Dear Leslie,

many thanks for your email.
I would appreciate if you email the picture
to me.
My brother has some pictures of the immigrants
I try to get these and email it to you.
I hope so much that there is a relation to you.
I am searching since 1992 the Kiebel family and I
had no more hope to find out something.
I will tell you something about me.
I am 46 years old and I live and work in Mainz.
It is near Frankfurt. I have a sister (56) and a
brother (53). My mother and my brother are still
living in the small village (Farschweiler) near the
town Trier, where the Kiebel family comes from.
My father passed away in 1972. He knew his grandmother
Margarethe Kiebel very well. She was the sister of the
immigrants. My uncle Johann Becker passed away in 1992 he was
90 at the time of his death. In his estate we found the pictures
and a letter from 1947 of Anna Kiebel to my grandfather.
I don't know why there was no contact after 1947.
Hope to hear from you.

Mechthild

Dear Mechthild,
I talk to my Aunt Annie, who is Annie Kiebels grandaughter and she was named after her, she knew of a Maggie which was a relative. She also said it was short for Margarethe. It seems more and more we could be related. If you would give me your email I would scan the picture of Annie Kiebel. I would give you mine but I'm in the process of switching email address. As I said in the original post Annie and Caroline married Hartmann brothers in Chicago in the 1880's. My married name is Hartman the spelling was changed in the early 1900's. Most of my family still live in Chicago but I live in Las Vegas. My father and and his two brothers and one sister, who are Annies grandchildren are still alive back there. Hope to hear from you again.

Dear Leslie,

thanks for your email. My office email is:
mechthild.becker@KMW-AG.de

Margarethe Kiebel is my great-grandmother. She married
Nikolaus Becker. They had only one son named Johann Becker.
The son of Johann is my father Alois Becker.
Does your aunt Annie know something about Matthew Kiebel, a brother of her
grandmother Annie and his wife Anna? They had seven children.
(Annie, Max, Josefine, girl, Eva K., Carrie, Cecilia)
And does she knowes something about John Kiebel in Mobile, Alabama?
Does she also knows something about Peter Kiebel in Ohio, a uncle of her grandmother Annie?
Sorry for such a lot of questions.
Hope to hear from you.
