I'm finding tons of KEIBs in Buffalo, NY, in the 1870 census and would like to connect with anyone whose KEIB line goes back to Buffalo. Did the Keibs immigrate from Germany with BIEHLs, who also settled in Buffalo? Am descended from a John Biehl of Prussia/Germany who married a Julia Keib/Kieb abt 1845. Hoping to sort out this Keib/Biehl family.

On the 1930 Census there is a family in Tonawanda, Erie County NY.
Lawrence Himmelsbach and spouse Cecilia (nee KIEB), with son Carl J. Carl J. HIMMELSBACH obit is in the Chronicle Sun in Massachusetts. Maybe he is on the SSDI. Obit is posted on ancestry after searching his name it should appear. Published May 5, 2004 if I recall correctly.

My great grandmother was Barbara Keib who married Jacob Geib. My grandmother, Helen, was one of 12 surviving children. Please email me for further information.

When and were did Barbara and Jacob live?

Kathie, how much research have you done on your KEIB / GEIB ancestors? Do you have a tree with birth and death dates and locations? Do you know who your original KEIB and GEIB immigrants were?

I have a Julia KEIB born abt. 1830 in Baden, Prussia, who immigrated to the U.S. before 1860. She married John BIEHL abt. 1845, probably in Prussia. He was a blacksmith and wheelwright in Buffalo. John died in 1888 and is buried in the United German and French Cemetery in Cheektowaga. Julia appears to have died before 1870. Don't know whether she is buried with John or not, but clearly they were Catholic.

Can you connect to this Julia KEIB? The KEIBs and BIEHLs lived close to each other in Buffalo. The two families appear in close proximity on census records.
