"KEHAYIAS, KAREN MAY (Hiett)
Born February 8, 1939 in Columbus, Ohio, died December 17, 2005 at her home in Rockledge, Florida, following a six-month battle against cancer. A devoted wife and mother, Karen married John Kehayias in 1957 immediately following high school graduation. They retired to Florida after John's retirement from Federal Service.
Besides her husband, Karen is survived by her son and daughter-ini-law, Matt and Ruby Kehayias of Rockledge, Florida, son, Timothy Kehayias of Fairfax, Virginia, son and daughter-in-law, Domitri and Linda Kehayias of Herndon, Virginia and grandchildren, Christopher, Jonathan, Kammy, Joseph, Andrew, Andrea, Demitri, John, Katina, and Crystal. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Mary Hiett; brother, Gary Hiett; beloved son, Andrew, and cherished grandson, Matthew.
Countless families across the country have been touched by Karen's selfless generosity, wisdom, and love. Her's was a unique spirit whose loss will be mourned for generations to come.
A viewing will be held at MULLINS & THOMPSON FUNERAL SERVICE, Stafford Chapel, 186 Shelton Shop Road, Stafford, Virginia 22554 on Friday, January 6, 2006 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Father Matthew Streett of Nativity of the Theotokos Greek Orthodox Church, Fredericksburg, VA will preside over a Memorial Service at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 7, 2006, also at the Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow at Stafford Memorial Park. A reception will be held at the home of Gwen and Cliff Cusick, [street address omitted] Stafford, Virginia, immediately following the Saturday service."
